Emmy Talks About Lost Season Finale

Charlie killed himself. That was more or less what happened. He could have made it out. He could have gotten out of the room. He could have grabbed Desmond's arm and rushed to the surface. They could have both made it out alive.

Or...Desmond's lie to Charlie killed Charlie. Because we all know Desmond was lying at the point, you could see it in his eyes. Charlie so desperatly wanted them saved.

But he could have been saved too.

That was simply bad writing. If your going to take Charlie from me, you do it where he had no way of avoiding it.

Because Charlie giving up like that was almost disrespectful to the wonderful character that they created.

I'm not overly angry about it. I've accepted that he was going to die, even though I had some foolish hopes. I just wish he could have gotten something dignified. And I realise they tried. He saved Desmond and got the truth to him (Not Penny's Boat). But that? That was cheap.

And Charlie's death is really one of my only complaints about the whole episode.

I laughed that Jack is still an emo bastard in the future. And I liked how he more or less turned into his father, which was something he was trying to avoid.

Ofcourse now the big question is...was the future scenes with hillbilly Jack how the rest of the show is going to be? Because it could be viewed that the Island scenes were the flashbacks and that was the present story.

I don't like the idea of "It was a flash forward." Because that takes the mystery out of it. Because that means we know Jack and Kate are alive and they were rescued, presuming that the others were as well.

Who do you think was in the casket? I thought about it for a long time. I've thought of about...three people that it could be. Locke, Ben or Sawyer. I don't want to think it was Sawyer though. I like to think that the "He" Kate mentioned was Sawyer.

Because I don't like Kate and I think she's going to end up staying with Sawyer if they get off the island in this possible future. Why? Because he understands her to some degree that Jack will never understand. And because Sawyer wouldnt be able to turn her away. People aren't always strong. Kate would probably latch to Sawyer once they are ripped from home (Island) for some sense of familiarity.

Or maybe it was something Jack thought of momentarily when he was on the phone and it's not the truth. Maybe that won't happen at all in the grand scheme of things.

Like Boone and his 'seeing his sister die' thing. Accept...not hallucination.

I don't know. I want more. I hate Summer break. I want more Lost.

And you know the best part of the entire episode? Hurley and the van. He wins. Don't tell Hurley he can't do something because of his size.

And who else thinks the vision of Walt was simply amusing? They gave up trying to make him look ten didn't they?

Also I've decided. Danielle is the coolest girl on the island anymore. She rules. "Want to help me tie him up?" AWESOME.

Sayid snapping the guy's neck with his legs? Sexy as hell.

Um...Oh. Aaron. Him crying the moment Charlie died? Broke my heart.

But I didn't cry at all during that episode. I sat up in fear when they 'shot' Sayid, Jin and Bernard, but I didn't cry. Then I logiced it and realized they weren't dead.

Oh and Juliet's convo with Sawyer was priceless.
"So are you banging Jack yet?"
"No, are you?"
Loved it.

I wonder if they are going to have the flashforwards/island flashbacks from now on. I want to know.

And why in the world won't Mikhail die? Maybe they should just shoot him...since gunshots seem to work on everyone but Locke.

I could ramble on for hours about this I think. I was pacing after it was over.

Yay Lost for opening a whole new can of confusion.

Dominic Monaghan better be coming out with four or five new movies next year. Since I wont be getting a fix every Wendsday anymore.

Oh and there is no way I'm spending nearly $500 for a course on poetry. Forget that idea.

Im glad Charlie finally died and i knew you'd have picked faults with it as he's your favourite character but they had dragged it out far to long and i was just bored with it. I think the reason he sacrificed himself was to show that he'd become hero material, someone had to make it back and he chose it to be Desmond. I think it was also done to show how far he'd come from the Charlie that arrived on the island to now. I do agree it was a bad piece of writting as Charlie is a catholic and he was trying to be a good catholic by crossing himself but one flaw is catholics dont believe in suicide its a sin and you go to hell for it no matter how pure and great your life was. Like if the pope commited suicide (he supposedly being the most holy man in the world) he'd still go to hell. So Lost retarded writer strikes again with lack of research. Im glad desmond survived... i still believe he has far too much more to give. Even though i did cry i found the skipping to Aaron crying a wee bit cheesy but i still am dreading when Claire finds out Charlie is dead. That is going to be nasty.

Mikhil = Cunt. I hope he's actually dead now. Bastard.

I wonder too if from now on its going to show the characters lives after they get off the island and the events running up to how they got off. It seems they've exhausted the events running up to getting onto the island. Id also like to think Sawyer was married to Kate cause i really hate Jack, he grates on me and Sawyer makes me laugh (and he's hot and well perfect for me as i like the bad guys) Im hoping everyone got off the island like Jack wanted and he made a mistake before he left that he wants to go back and fix... maybe left someone behind or something? I dont want to think jack and kate were the only two that got away cause that would just be shit. I hoping its Ben in the casket thats who I automatically thought it would be or Locke.. maybe Locke died trying to stay on the island or got ill on the island and had to leave to survive but died anyway. I dont think it would of been Sawyer. Well i hope not as I have a fond loving for him. SOOO glad Jin didnt die, i would hate another kid to only have one parent (walt/aaron) it seems to be a running theme.

Anyway have to phone em and dicuss it so ill get back to you when we have more ideas lol.

I think it was dragged out too long as well. I also don't think it should have ever been introduced. I found it kind of boring from the begining. It took this sort of feel where it was just like "Excuse me, JJ Abrams?" I don't know...I just hated it. Charlie had a much more important job to do and well...he can't now. Oh well.

And yeah...I saw that. The crossing himself thing. Made me pout a bit. But see, I don't think Charlie has a strong belief, even if he was raised as a catholic. I don't think he would have considered the fact he was going to possibly go to hell. I imagine that what was flashing through his mind those last few seconds was excatly what Desmond described to him. Claire getting onto a helocopter with Aaron. I have no doubt in my mind that the last thing Charlie saw before he passed away was a flash of Claire.

Because she was his light.

I think it was Ben in the casket, the more I think about it. Kate would have probably attended one of the Oceanic's funerals. But Ben? Why would anyone attend Ben's funeral. His entire life was on the Island, he had no ties or family on the main land. And Jack probably went because maybe he was begining to agree with Ben, and now Ben is gone. Jack felt like leaving the Island was a mistake, just like Ben said. So he had to pay his respects, in some small way.

Yeah...it was Ben. *settles upon it*

Jack = Douche.

Lol, ok. Will keep this convo running for the next few days ;)

Yeah i agree having Charlie commit suicide was definately a bad move in whatever respects it was completely retarded and definately results of a long day of writing and people just wanting to go home. Sacrifice has always been some way of showing bravery so i guess thats possibly how they saw it but not by suicide. Like you said it should of been some way he couldnt escape.

Yeah definate Ben in the casket. Jack would of attended the funeral no matter who it had been but it definately seems likely it was Bens but i dont know why Jack would of cried... maybe it would of been because Ben has been helping him.. ACK so many questions. I bet Jack made Ben come with him off the island to have him tried for everything he'd done or see a psychiatrist or something... i dont see any other reason Ben would leave. I actually do believe Ben is off his rocker.

Bah work :(

Ah!I've missed a lot of this season but I was all excited and watched the cram session that they had before Lost, I miss about a half hour, in the middle of it, but I've got it over Brian's on DVR...gotta love his mommy, which I plan to watch tomorrow when I go over there. I was disapointed with Charlie's death...because he could have fit through that port hole....

I loved Hurley like saving the day...GO HURLEY!...and when Sayid broke that dude's neck it was freakin' great. I don't like the flashforward, simply because I didn't quiet understand it at first, I couldn't figure out when that happened in Jack's life and by the time I figured out it was a flash forward I was to distracted to pay attention and I know I missed a lot of things. I kind of understand why they did it though. I just hope that they've got something up their sleeves (like always)

Dude...I really hope Locke gets gangreen and dies....he's starting to become like the cat from pet semetary that just keeps coming back...

Good eppy though! Can't wait for Fall!

If it was Ben it'll be because he was Jacks last and final chance to get back to the island.

According to the Lost Wiki the newspaper clipping says:

Los Angeles
Man found dead in
downtown loft

"The body of Jo...[unreadable]...[a]ntham of
New York was discovered shortly after 4
a.m. in the...[unreadable]...of Grand
Avenue. Ted...[unreadable]...man at The
Tower...[unreadable]...heard loud
noises...[unreadable]...antham's loft.
[unreadable]... [sa]fety, he
[unreadable]...discovered the
[unreadable]...a beam in the
[unreadable]...[ac]cordin[g]...[unreadable]..."

so is it Ben or isn't it? Their first name appears to begin with Jo and their last name seems to end with antham (unless the unreadable bit is a lot longer).

It was a great episode anyway but i still wanna know about the super old Richard Alpert, he by far is one of the most interesting others at the moment.
